Oregon Land Acknowledgement.
We acknowledge that the land on which we have the opportunity to grow, learn, work, and create community is the traditional territory of the following Indigenous Peoples: Cowlitz, Multnomah, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Chelmela, Winefelly, Kalapuya, Nez Perce, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Confederated Tribes of Siletz, and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, who have been the original stewards of this land for thousands of years.
We recognize the enduring relationship that Indigenous peoples have with this land, waterways, and ecosystems. We honor the wisdom, resilience, and contributions of the following Indigenous Peoples: Cowlitz, Multnomah, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Chelmela, Winefelly, Kalapuya, Nez Perce, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Confederated Tribes of Siletz, and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, to this region.
We also acknowledge the ongoing presence and contributions of Indigenous peoples in our communities, and commit ourselves to learning from their history, culture, and way of life.
As we gather on this land, we pay our respects to the Cowlitz, Multnomah, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Chelmela, Winefelly, Kalapuya, Nez Perce, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Confederated Tribes of Siletz, and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and express our gratitude for the opportunity to live, work, and learn here.
